I like the character of Clare. but there were at least three "too much" moment, that just seemed piled on. I get that this is fiction and things have to happen, and also that the tension between Elise and Clare and therefore Sarah is part of the series, but I find it difficult to believe that they keep making the same mistakes over and over.So too much moment #1: The repressed memory...it happens. absolutely. but it seemed a bit much, Clare has plenty going on and this didn't seem to move the story forward. It seemed tacked on.Moment #2: the reappearance of a certain character. I think the story would have been better served by letting grief be. There was a bit more "movement" on this point but I think it could have been handled just as impactfully in another way. I am not sure how I feel about Ellen I did not include that in my too much moments, but maybe I should have. It does seem contrived.Moment # 3 was the coach accident. This author does like a car crash doesn't she? Anyway, again it felt like this was just a way to get certain people in the room, which could have been done with way less icky drama. Also, why is there no nod given to Philip being Elise's Daughter's grandpa? It seems that should be a bit more fleshed out. I want some explanation of his feelings vis a vis his son's behavior.
